The BucketList Club adventure community was unwittingly founded by Isaac Stout and Cohutta Grindstaff over 10 years ago on their travels with MTV for the TV show “The Real World” in Sydney Australia. On the show, Isaac and Cohutta were pitted against each other as rival tour planners for one of the world’s largest travel companies. The two had to compete to create the best itinerary for Sydney and in the end Isaacs’s team won. After Isaac and Cohutta left the show as besties, they traveled and backpacked together and with other pseudo celebrities from all over the world accumulating contacts and friends of like minds in what was then known as “The Travel Tribe”.  At this time, they were people who simply wanted to travel and to see the world but NOT be seen or photographed constantly so they could infiltrate cultures and events flying beneath the tourist radar. Along these travels, two of these “tribe members” became integral to the structure of the community. Ben Jonson, (security) ex-Navy Seal team member and THE most successful contestant on the TV show “Naked and Afraid” as well as Jay Dover, professional financial planner by day and zany travel guru at heart (JD money). It was not until 2019, over a decade after the BucketList Club’s inception that these four founders decided the club’s policy on secrecy had mutated into exclusivity; which is inherently against the founding goal of showing young inexperienced Americans the ease, beauty and attainability of world travel. They believe the beauty and life expanding possibilities of traveling our glorious planet has never been rightfully coveted in our own home culture and thus requires a revolution. Our community’s founding motto is that “unordinary people deserve to do extraordinary things”. So if you have an open heart, an open mind, a couple bucks and a couple sick days…join the family, give your comfort zone the finger, and start the adventure of your life.

Travel is not a spectator sport! The first of our ideals is to immerse ourselves in amazing cultures all around the planet in an effort to better understand and connect with the unique people, lifestyles, and traditions that make up the beautiful world in which we live. We strive to never stop learning, to better ourselves and those around us, and to enrich our spirits with all of the wonderful worldwide influences that life has to offer. Whether that means spending a day with a local family, exploring the underground customs of a counterculture, or being socially responsible and volunteering with an important and relevant organization, there is simply no substitute in learning from people than being hands-on and face-to-face. It is ultimately the core of our mission.

Our community is our family and we LOVE our family! We are NOT a travel company! We are an adventure COMMUNITY made up of members and connections from all across the globe. Everyone associated with the BucketList Club has the common bond of being positive, openhearted, and open-minded; our only requirement for admission. We are made up of people from all walks of life that have a hunger to learn, explore, and revel in the grand festival that IS life.  Although the BucketList Club was started by Americans we are now made up of people all over the globe, locals from every nook and cranny of the world that are able to give us insight on our destinations that you would never find in a travel guide book or quick Google search. These are the people we rely on to provide the most authentic and unique experience of any place and BucketList event we dive into from the inside out. Every single BucketList trip is designed to create a diverse community of unique individuals who will make lasting friendships, unforgettable memories, and ultimately join our family at journey’s end. As any proud institution will testify, people are what make all the difference and the BucketList Club holds this to the highest standard.

We create the Mayhem! This part needs no explanation to those whom hath partaken in our trips. In a sentence... We seek out the biggest parties, festivals, and general tomfoolery that any destination has to offer. We dress up in costumes and outfits with no rhyme or reason for our own amusement and hopefully to that of others. We treat the old adage “Eat, Drink, and Be Merry” as a biblical verse and this shared sentiment is a mainstay among all our members. If you’ve ever been in a Colombian dive bar and seen 20 people of all different ages, races, and citizenships walk in strutting turtlenecks, linen suits and briefcases handcuffed to their wrists… that was probably us and could possibly be you!
